With great pleasure we announce the launch of Merimna‘s new program entitled “Bereavement support for children and families who have experienced loss”, which will be implemented thanks to the SNF Nostos x Release Athens donation program, in the framework of the International Health Initiative (IHI) of Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The aim of the intervention is to provide support to a) children and adolescents up to 18 years of age who are grieving the loss of a loved one, b) parents with children who are grieving the loss of their partner, in order to function effectively in their parental role and manage their grief and c) parents who have lost their child.In the framework of this project, a database will be created to support the operation of Merimna’s two Bereavement Counselling Support Centers in Athens and Thessaloniki as well as its Pediatric Palliative Home Care Service.
The implementation of the project started on 01.11.23 and will be completed on 30.10.24.
