Merimna - Who We Are
Merimna has honored the social worker Tasia Tsadila with the Professor Emeritus Konstantinos Papadatos Award, for her outstanding contribution to the Pediatric Palliative Care Service of Merimna (2019).
Also, since its founding until today, Merimna has been recognized for its contribution by the following institutions:
- ANTENNA Television Station with the “Award of Merit for Contribution”, in the framework of the “Awards for Life” (2008).
- The Secondary School Board of Education in the prefecture of Ilia for its intervention in 120 schools in Pyrgos and Amaliada, after the devastating fires in 2007 (2009).
- The Panathenaic Women’s Organization – Youth Branch, for the outstanding contribution of Merimna to young people (2009).
- In 2017, the Association for Women’s Rights awarded Danai Papadatou, President of Merimna, the “Aliki Yiotopoulou-Maragopoulou” Award for Women’s Social Contribution, for the work of Merimna.
- In 2022 the European Commission rewards the training program of Merimna “CONNECTIONS – Supporting the School Community in the Shadow of the Pandemic” with the Τhird EU MENTAL HEALTH AWARD.
- On May 26, 2022, the International Work Group on Death, Dying and Bereavement (IWGDDB) awarded the “Herman Feifel Award” to Dr. Danai Papadatou, President of Merimna, in recognition of her outstanding Life-Time Achievement in the field of death and dying.
