Connections
Merimna - Educational Programs

Program objective & projected educational outcomes:
The “Connections” program aims to empower teachers to understand the needs of children and adolescents facing loss, bereavement or a life-threatening illness in their family – these are issues that are particularly critical during the COVID-19 pandemic – and to support them competently to best manage the situation they are facing.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants are expected to be able to:
- Understand and respond to the needs of children and adolescents facing bereavement or life-threatening illness in the family
- Support children and adolescents facing bereavement or life-threatening illness in the family
Target Group:
Primary and secondary school teachers throughout Greece and consequently their students.
Methodology:
The training includes synchronous remote and asynchronous training through our new Merimna Learning Management System (LMS) platform.
Each trainee will receive codes, with which he/she will enter the platform and will have the time (5-6 days) to study, whenever he/she chooses within this period, the material of each of the two modules (on bereavement and illness). A three-hour online meeting will then take place at a set time during which the material will be consolidated, experiences will be exchanged, questions will be answered, and participants will work in small groups on selected scenarios with cases corresponding to each module.
It should be noted that the audiovisual educational material and the scenarios provided are specialized according to the age of the children and the respective educational level.
The training includes modern distance and asynchronous training through our new Merimna Learning Management System (LMS) platform.
