Merimna participated in a study tour in Dublin as part of the training program “Transformational Leadership in Palliative Care“.
The aim of the field trip was to visit Palliative Care facilities and services in Ireland, to understand how these services operate, to familiarize with the institutional and wider regulatory framework of the country and to share good practices.
The visit took place from 27-30.06.2023, and was organized in collaboration with Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Service in Dublin. This organization has 3 hospices, home-based palliative care services and Day Centers and serves more than 4,500 patients per year. It also has a Research and Education Centre where research projects (PhD/postgraduate studies) are carried out with national and European funding in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
