“Merimna’s” Participation in International Conferences

Dr. Danai Papadatou, President of Merimna, was invited to be guest speaker at the 3rd National Portuguese Conference on Pediatric Palliative Care, held in Lisbon, 17-19 May 2018 (photo). Dr. Papadatou opened the proceedings with the speech “How can you continue to do this job? Prerequisites for providing quality care and work satisfaction in pediatric palliative care”.

Dr. Ana Lacerda, Pediatric Oncologist, Head of Pediatric Palliative Care in Portugal, Dr. Danai Papadatou, Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Department of Nursing , University of Athens and President of “Merimna”, and Dr. Edna Goncalves, Oncologist, Head of the Ministry of Health committee for the introduction of Palliative Care in Portugal.

Dr. Papadatou also participated in the 3rd ICPCN Conference, entitled “Inspiration, Innovation, Integration” which took place, May 30th –June 2nd 2018 in Durban, South Africa. She presented the talk “Accompanying the Child and Family at the End of Life”. Furthermore she took part in a workshop entitled “Children’s Palliative Care in Humanitarian Situations”, where she presented her work on the empowerment of staff supporting refugees who have experienced multiple losses and bereavement.
