Concert of Love for the children of “Merimna”
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
9 October 2021
On the occasion of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, on Saturday, October 9, Merimna invites you to a unique online, on demand Concert of Love.
We kindly ask you to support the Love Concert, by attending, sharing the information about it and inviting others, your followers, friends, associates and families, in order to help the children in need of Palliative Care!
The aim of the concert is to raise awareness of the need for Palliative Care and to support the only Pediatric Palliative Care service in Greece that Merimna has been operating since 2010. Pediatric Palliative Care is the holistic care provided by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and aims to help children suffering from a life-threatening illness to live, with Dignity and Quality, a life that takes on special meaning for them and their loved ones in the face of the possibility or certainty of death.
Merimna, the Friends of Merimna and the Greek Society for Pediatric Palliative Care, with the hospitality of Thessaloniki Concert Hall and the artists who participate pro bono, soprano Marina Voulogianni, pianist Nikos Zafranas, the Choir of St. Kirillos & Methodius and the choir director Maria Meligopoulou, compose a unique artistic puzzle, exclusively in support of the work of Merimna.
The voices and the symphonic melodies invite everyone in Greece and abroad to attend the online concert for a good cause.
The concert has been filmed in the foyer of the sophisticated aesthetics of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, overlooking Thermaikos and includes favourite songs of the Greek composers Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, as well as selected excerpts of the works of Gabriel Fauré, Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Gaetano Donizetti, Francis Poulenc, Kurt Weill and Theodoros Spathis.
Attend Merimna’s online Love Concert, tell your friends and colleagues to do the same and support children in need of Palliative Care!
The Concert will be available online from 9.10.21 – 8.11.21, on the viva.gr platform. The cost of each ticket is 10 euros.
